Frequently Asked Questions

Practical answers about planning, living in the home during work, and how our improvements are sequenced.

Before you write to us

Most households ask the same things: how long a kitchen takes, whether they can stay in the house, and who they will speak with once the work begins. The notes below describe our usual practice. Every home is different, so a representative will still confirm details after you send the contact form.

Ask a question

Use the contact form to describe the rooms, the problems, and the outcome you want. Photographs of the current space are helpful. A representative reviews the enquiry, asks clarifying questions, and outlines a sensible sequence — for example roofing before interior painting if stains are present.

Often yes. We isolate active rooms, protect floors, and keep a temporary kitchen or bathroom arrangement whenever the scope allows. Dusty demolition and noisy cutting are scheduled in blocks so the rest of the household can plan around them. If a whole-home envelope repair makes occupancy impractical, we will say so before work begins.

A focused bathroom refresh may take a few weeks once materials arrive. A kitchen that moves plumbing, lighting, and cabinetry typically needs a longer window because trades must inherit ready surfaces. Lead times for cabinets, tile, and fixtures often influence the calendar more than labour. We share a written sequence after selections are confirmed.

Yes. That is the reason HomeSearchInCo exists. A project lead coordinates house repair, painting, plumbing, millwork, and finishing so you are not managing separate crews. If a specialist partner is required for a particular fixture or roofing detail, they still work inside our schedule and our protection standards.

We stop, photograph the condition, and explain options before extra work proceeds. Moisture, failed plumbing, or structural movement is documented in a change note. You approve the path — repair now, stage later, or adjust the finish — so the project does not grow silently.

You do, with guidance. We present sheens, grout colours, and hardware that survive cleaning and daily use. If a period home needs a quieter match, we sample against existing trim. Selections are written into the scope so installers are not guessing on the day.

Walk paths are covered, furniture is moved or wrapped by agreement, and wet-work is contained. Exterior projects include care for planting beds and downspouts. We would rather spend an extra hour on protection than an extra day on repairs to a finish that was never part of the job.

Absolutely. Many clients begin with a single bathroom, a peeling hall, or a leaking kitchen sink. We match new work to adjoining rooms so the improved space does not look like a different house. If a small repair reveals a larger envelope issue, we will explain it and wait for your decision.

Yes. We test fixtures, review paint, check hardware alignment, and list remaining items. Care notes for new surfaces — how soon to clean tile, how to treat fresh paint — are shared so the finish can cure properly. A representative remains your contact for follow-up questions after handover.
